Privacy Policy

Wiring Atlas is run by Key Microsystems Limited, a company registered in New Zealand. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and who we share it with. It follows New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020.

What we keep, where it lives, and who sees it

• We collect only what we need to run the app and bill you.
• Your records are stored with Cloudflare in eastern North America.
• We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
• The website sets no tracking cookies.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, and company name, plus your team members’ email addresses and access levels.
• Your records: everything you enter, such as customers, properties, building plans, circuits, jobs, reports, contact notes, and your company logo.
• Feedback: messages you send with the feedback button, the page you were on, and your screen size. Your email is included only if you ask us to reply.
• Technical logs: our hosting provider keeps short-lived logs of requests and errors so we can keep the service running and secure.
• Billing: Paddle collects your payment details. We see your plan and payment status, never your full card number.

How we use it

We use your information to run Wiring Atlas, keep it secure, answer your questions, and improve the app. We email you only about your account, your billing, or important changes.

Your customers’ information

The details you enter about your own customers belong to your business. We store them for you and don’t contact your customers or use their details for anything else. If one of your customers asks about their information, they should contact you, and we’ll help you respond.

Who helps us run the service

We share information only with the companies below, and only what each one needs:

• Cloudflare, Inc. (United States): hosting, database, file storage, and security.
• WorkOS, Inc. (United States): sign-up, sign-in, and email address checks.
• Paddle.com Market Limited (United Kingdom): checkout, billing, and tax, as our reseller.
• Migadu-Mail GmbH (Switzerland): our email.

These companies are outside New Zealand, so your information is stored and handled overseas. We use providers that protect it to a standard comparable to New Zealand law. We also share information when the law requires it.

Cookies and browser storage

The website uses no cookies. It only remembers whether you picked light or dark mode, in your browser’s own storage.

The app uses only the cookies it needs to keep you signed in. It also saves recovery copies of unsaved work in your browser, which you can remove when you sign out.

How long we keep it

We keep your records while your account is open. When you close it, we delete your company’s records within 30 days, and backup copies expire within a further 30 days. Paddle keeps billing records for as long as tax law requires.

Keeping it safe

All traffic to Wiring Atlas is encrypted. Every request is checked so people see only their own company’s records. If a privacy breach could cause you serious harm, we’ll tell you and the Privacy Commissioner as soon as we can.

Your rights

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. Email admin@wiringatlas.com, and we’ll reply within 20 working days. If you’re unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post any update on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is important, we’ll email you before it takes effect.
